New Google ReCaptcha Implemented

July 14, 2015
Chadwick Meyer
You may have heard that Google recently updated it's ReCaptcha spam filtering plugin to be more user friendly. Their ReCaptcha plugin is meant to be a "Turing Test" to determine if the entity filling out your forms is a real human or a computer "spambot". And in a stroke of genius, Google used that opportunity (all those human eyes and brains answering the question) to scan and interpret old books (or streetview addresses) with hard to read words and numbers that their "reading" software couldn't figure out. Unfortunately (and amazingly) ...

Alternative Page Layouts

July 09, 2015
Chadwick Meyer
As we continue developing the next 2.0 version of our platform, there are a lot of features we wish we had all along in 1.0. In general, we are trying to spend all our time developing 2.0, but if the features are easy to implement we've try to add some basic version of them to 1.0 as well. One of the new features that is really important in 2.0 is the ability to visually select the layout of your page, from a lot of beautiful alternative layout options. For example, you may want your content showing up in list page design that looks like a ...

Chadwick Meyer
We've launched two additional new free design templates called "Fantôme" and "Sken", which are described by our designer as: These two templates are similiar, except the Sken is light while the Fantôme is dark. These new designs are fully responsive and mobile friendly, with a collapsable side menu drawer that hides the menu and slides out on smaller devices. There are also nice touches of CSS animations and transitions that give the site a polished UI. To experience the new designs, definitely click around the Fantôme Demo site as ...

Checkout our Design page for a list of new designs that are available or coming soon. First to be released is the our "Bild" template. This is characterized as: But a picture is worth a thousand words, so look at the demo site and click around the options. This is our first template with a floating menu. And of course it features a lot of nice CSS animation touches to make the links and buttons come alive. If you ...

June 16, 2015
Chadwick Meyer
Great news, Google Maps now provides border outlines of cities and neighborhoods. We've converted the maps on our community detail pages (where this is most relevant) to show the borders. We hope you like it! For those of you interested in embedding maps on other pages, Google has a great tool for this.

New Faster Servers Require Your Domain DNS Update

May 26, 2015
Chadwick Meyer
Over the past few weeks we have upgraded our entire server infrastructure to new, faster, more powerful machines, solid state drives, more CPU and RAM and upgraded software. That means faster web servers, database servers and new load balancers. These changes should improve performance for your website and also give us more flexibility to scale and respond to future server failure scenarios. To take full advantage of these changes we require 5 minutes of work on your part. We need you to point your Domain's DNS to a new IP address. This is ...

Dynamically Publish Syndicated Content to Cloned Sites

March 31, 2015
Chadwick Meyer
Gutensite has built a really great system to deploy websites in bulk, using Master Sites that are cloned to create starter content for the new website. This is how your new website had default content when you first got started. Now we've made this tool available to our partners. We've been working with partners who need to provide websites to a network of clients, e.g. Real Estate Brokers that need websites for hundreds of Real Estate Agents, or Churches that need thousands of websites for all the churches in their denomination, or Design ...

March 06, 2015
Chadwick Meyer
Gutensite has added integration for a new user-friendly website analytics and heatmap platform called Ptengine. Analytics can be a really powerful tool to help you get more out of your website, but platforms like Google Analytics can be hard to learn and even harder to decipher what you should do with all this data. So other companies like Ptengine are trying to make a product that is much more user-friendly and actionable. Give them a try and let us know what you think. One of the greatest features is their heatmap, where you can see exactly ...

List all Personal Properties from the MLS

January 28, 2015
Chadwick Meyer
In order to display your properties as a beautiful brochure, we always recommend entering your properties manually into our property tool. That lets you upload gorgeous full screen images, videos, and special information to create a compelling "Single Property Website" for each property. You can even assign a unique domain or friendly URL to each property. Another advantage of uploading your own properties is that you can keep a long list of your sold properties, as a portfolio (and include exclusive pocket listings). However, if you are ...

MLS Neighborhood Search

January 26, 2015
Chadwick Meyer
We've updated the Real Estate property search for MLS IDX feeds, so that if the MLS provides the information, you can now search by neighborhoods in the normal "Location" field. That means the location field is smart enough to parse searches for:   City County Zip Code Neighborhood (e.g. Haight Ashbury) Street Address Street Name   For convenience, the Neighborhoods auto-complete as you type any portion of the name (to make sure you spell them right), just like city and county have always done. We've also added a few other ...
